History

Founded in the late 1960s (when there wasn’t even a road to Negril), The Yellow Bird is one of the oldest and finest resorts on Negril.  The original owners spent close to 40 years building cottages and cultivating the beautiful landscaping. Over time, the resort became one of the most popular destinations on the island.

The Yellow Bird was purchased in 2004 by the current owners who continue to give the resort the best in tender loving care and built The Last Mango Bar, which was home to MTV’s infamous spring break.

Over the years, The Yellow Bird underwent various transformations with the addition of cottages and recreational area, but the overall intent with each renovation was to maintain the beauty of the property while blending in with the natural beauty of the island.
