Of course, you can’t visit The Yellow Bird without relaxing at the always popular Last Mango Bar where you will find the largest selection of cold beer anywhere on the island. Ask the bartenders for a Mango Margarita or Dirty Banana, and be sure to take advantage of the two-for-one daily specials. To satisfy your sweet tooth, Marcia the Cake Lady sets up outside the bar with an assortment of cakes and desserts! Also watch for Jem the Fruit Lady and her assortment of fresh mangos, avocados, bananas, oranges, papayas, star fruit, june plums, gnapes and more!

Ecological

In recent surveys, 80% of the people staying at vacation resorts wished to save resources and protect our future. Jamaica is one of the most beautiful places on Earth and our goal at The Yellow Bird is to maintain the beauty of Negril. Therefore, we encourage our guests to follow the three Rs: reduce, reuse and recycle. Here are a few tips our guests can do to save the island’s natural resources and keep Negril beautiful for years to come!

  • Turn off the air conditioner when not in the room.
  • Turn off unnecessary lights when not needed.
  • Reuse table and bath linens.
  • Recycle paper, glass and other materials.

All Inclusive?

The Yellow Bird caters to all guests and there may be nominal charges for certain amenities. Breakfast is served daily and, for a small charge, items can be made to order. Plus, guests can order lunch for the next day, also for a small charge. Guests can enjoy the Last Mango Bar where you can find just about anything you need to quench your thirst, all at reasonable prices that can be charged to your room.

The large “all inclusive” resorts can actually be quite exclusive. They exclude you from meeting the real people of Jamaica, and from going to different bars and restaurants up and down the beach. Guests staying at The Yellow Bird have the unique opportunity to experience the “real” Jamaica. Take a walk down the beach and meet Big John who sells beer, visit Angelo who prepares pizza and pasta and enjoy live reggae music up and down the beach! These ‘real’ adventures are not promoted to those staying at larger resorts.
